I like to cook. I like Garlic. I like to cook with Garlic. But I don’t overpower with garlic. If you want to season a good chicken dish for example…. dicing up a few cloves of garlic and adding it to the sautee brings out the most delicious flavor… the possibilities are endless. Sometimes however, Ive gone out to eat and have ordered a dish … it doesn’t matter what it was because all I could taste was the garlic. The fact that it was pasta or chicken or whatever was irrelevant because it just tasted like garlic.. and only garlic. As a famous man once said, all good things in moderation. Sometimes however I wil eat just plain garlic. No, not to ward off vampires and wereolves, but to boost my immunity if I feel I may be coming down with a common cold. Some people joke that eating garlic helps your immune system by keeping people away from you due to the odor. Not true, at least accdg to science. There is an ingedient in the root bulb called allicin, which has been shown to have antimicrobial properties. That means it kills the microbes, or bacteria, which if allowed to over multiply can cause a bacterial infection… sinusitis, bronchitis, you name it. Garlic , and its active ingredient are rumored to have many other health benefits… have a look, but as always check with your doctor before self precribing for something that may very well be serious. That said, a little garlic probably isnt going to hurt:
