With President Obama scheduled to pay visit to Asheville tomorrow, and set to deliver his State Of The Union Address tonite, here are the words to, and brief history behind Hail To The Chief.... usually prsented as an introductory instrumental:

 According to Wikipedia: The song finds its origin taken from verses from Sir Walter Scotts "The Lady Of The Lake" , including the line: "Hail to the Chief who in triumph advances!" which were set to music in 1812 by songwriter James Sanderson.  The song was reportedly first played for a president in 1815, when it was played to honor George Washington and to mark the end of the War of 1812
