Its been over 2 months since the school shooting in Newtown Connecticut, when a man of questionable mental stability gained access to a firearm and repeatedly shot 6 year old children. 20 children were killed along with 6 adults entrusted with their care. As the nation continues to debate gun control, perhaps we should undertake whatever steps can be reached in compromise to ensure there is a reduced chance of this sort of thing ever happening again. The world is a random place, and Im not sure we can ultimately prevent such an act from ever happening again, but if there is an opportunity to even reduce the chance, it certainly should be carefully explored and enacted. Perhaps if a greater number of 2nd amendment purists could be convinced that such a step doesn’t mean their arsenal will need to be delivered to a dispossession depot , compromise could be more readily reached. There are 26 voices that cry out from the grave, hoping the same fate doesn’t befall others, and other families left to survive in grief and pain. Lest we forget their names:
