4:30 -- A judge tells a guy in Brasstown that he's not allowed to lower an opossum in a glass box to celebrate the New Year. PETA declares victory, although the judge said the guy can still kill the opossum. He just can't lower it in that box.

5:00 -- Asheville City Council looks to change its noise ordinance.
5:30 -- A new study on the merger between the Metropolitan Sewerage District and the City Water Department is released, and it shows there could be $10 - 20 million in "operational efficiencies" over the next decade.
